‘Murder On The Dancefloor,’ featured in the Netflix series Saltburn, had been repurposed through an AI VoiceOver generator for several bogus Instagram ads, misleading fans into surrendering their credit card information.

After issuing a legal notice on January 18, 2024, for the transgressions, Charan sought an apology, damages, and a share in profits from the offending parties. Unmoved, Charan iterates; “We will not resort to underhanded tactics. We want to resolve this legally. We avoid a media trial.” He also highlights SPB’s voice’s considerable recall value – a likely reason for the filmmakers’ illegal imitation.

Intricacies of composition haunted him, with the early attempts turning into a creative disaster. Despite being proficient in piano, Guitchounts struggled with creating a coherent piece from scratch. It was then that he turned to MuseNet, an AI-based music composer developed by OpenAI. MuseNet, trained on a broad corpus of music across multiple genres, was hoped to provide the spark his creation was missing.

Though expectations were high, technology did not quite deliver; the results were far from impressive. The language-model AI systems appeared to exhibit fluency and a strong grasp of basic reasoning but fell short when it came to original and coherent music composition. Desperate attempts with various music-producing AI tools like OpenAI’s JukeBox and Google’s MusicLM only added to the disappointment.

In the end, he realized the significance of the ‘human touch’ in music composition. Despite the flaws, he decided that his fiancé’s wedding piece had to be unique and representative of his feelings and ideas. His musical piece, blending aspects of his Russian background and his partner’s South Indian roots turned into an exciting puzzle. The popular English rock band The Libertines were in for a surprise, listening to an AI rendition of one of their renowned tracks covered by the beloved cartoon character, Homer Simpson. This unexpected version even left band members Pete Doherty and Carl Barât in a state of shock and amusement.

The two Libertines were stunned upon hearing the AI-generated cover of their 2003 hot single, “Don’t Look Back Into The Sun”. It seemed so original they barely noticed the difference, causing quite a laugh when they realized it.

After a moment of surprise, Pete amusingly questioned, “Who’s remixed this then?” His confusion persisted even after being told that ‘Homer Simpson’ was the one ‘singing’ their track.
